The key challenges:

 As a business benefitting from a culturally diverse workforce, Greencore felt it needed to enhance its internal communications, ensuring they better reflected their deeply held inclusivity values.

They needed to re-ignite their ‘One Greencore’ principles. This would mean breaking through culture and language barriers across every corner of the business, ensuring everyone, whatever their role or country of origin, felt valued, included, and engaged.

Summary of outcomes

  • Universal visual tone of voice developed, inclusivity values boosted and intercommunication across 35 sites significantly improved.
  • Suite of over 100 2D graphics and multi-cultural character illustrations created to support image flexibility and enhance representation across all assets.
  • First Greencore ‘Cook Book’ launched, which saw hundreds of contributions from members of Greencore’s team.
  • Tangible increase in staff retention rates and overall wellbeing.

Our approach: Amplifying core values at every touch point.

Through early discussions with key stakeholders in HR, we knew that a completely reinvigorated design approach was needed to clearly signal a new chapter in employee engagement. We began by developing a unified and adaptable visual language, which would translate well across all assets. The new creative direction established carefully retained enough brand equity to ensure familiarity, whilst evolving away from conventionally corporate, towards a fresher and more relatable look and feel.

Growing morale, feeding ambition.

Our relationship with Greencore continues to grow and flourish and has seen us successfully complete a range of projects to support their commitment to finding innovative ways to instil a sense of belonging in every single member of their team. Recent examples include:

  • Design and production of ‘The Core’, an informative and engaging staff magazine, produced in print and online to maximise accessibility.
  • Provision of beautifully designed and printed staff recognition collateral, including nomination packs, table plans and display graphics for Greencore’s ‘Shine Awards’, which play a major role in highlighting and celebrating individual achievement.
  • Design and print of the ‘Great Food Colleague Cook Book’, which has provided an amazing vehicle for Greencore’s people to share exciting and diverse recipes from around the world. Ruddocks designed everything, including bespoke cover illustration, with ‘many hands’ iconography signifying the collective input of everyone who contributed.
